GINCZANKA. PRESCRIPTION FOR THE SIMPLICITY OF LIFE July 16 (Wednesday), 7:00 pm Gallery "O", entrance A Tickets: PLN 80 Performed by: Agnieszka Przepiórska Text: Piotr Rowicki Directed by: Anna Gryszkówna Set design, costume: Anna-Maria Karczmarska Music: Michal Lamza Substantive Consultation: Agata Araszkiewicz Light Direction: Mateusz Gierc Zuzia, a ten-year-old girl of Jewish origin, begins to write poems, and after a few years she first gets the honor of their publication in the school newspaper "School Echoes", and then wins an honorable mention in the poetry competition of "Literary News", persuaded to participate in it by Julian Tuwim himself. From that moment on, everything goes like clockwork in her life: already eighteen years old, Zuzanna begins working with "Literary News", moves from provincial Rivne (Volhynia) to her dream Warsaw, takes up studies and begins writing for "Szpileki". Joining the legendary Skamandrites and publishing her first (and only) volume of poetry, "O centaurs," not only strengthens the young poet's position in Warsaw, but also elevates her to the social and literary top. The world seems to lie at her feet. And then comes the war.The author of the text, Piotr Rowicki, does not build a hagiography of Ginczanka. He tries to de-brown her, to show her as she could really be. However, the text and the character would not exist on stage without the tender narrator, played with extraordinary dedication and inner truth by Agnieszka Przepiórska. The female directing hand of Anna Gryszkowna is also not without significance. In the situation of the war in Ukraine, Ginchka's character and story take on an unexpected character. As Svetlana Alexievich wrote, "war has nothing of the woman in it." Zuzanna Ginchanka, in Przepiórska's poignant creation, seems to confirm this truth. It is recorded both in Ginchanka's poetry and in Przepiórska's performance.Performance duration: 70 minutes
