The former municipal slaughterhouse and butcher's shop is located at the corner of Kołłątaja and Kościuszki streets. From the center of Świnoujście, from the City Hall, it is approx. 1 km, so approx. 15 minutes on foot. From the Municipal Office or the County Employment Office, we turn left into Polish army Street. Then we go into Konstytucji 3 - May Street and we move along until the intersection with Kosciuszko Street. We turn right. After approx. 500 m you will find a historic building on the right.

Built in 1890 and originally located outside the town borders, the slaughterhouse saw its heyday in the 1970s, but later declined. Eventually, it underwent extensive renovation and upgrade works, and now serves as a shopping mall.

In the second half of the 19th century, when more and more patients and tourists appeared in Świnoujście, there was a need to establish a slaughterhouse. Then the city authorities and craftsmen concluded an agreement, as a result of which a project of a modern slaughterhouse was created. The author of the project was the construction master Adolf Plotz. The facility was built in 1890. At that time, the slaughterhouse was located on the outskirts of the city so that its work would not disturb the peace of the inhabitants. The huge red brick building had thick walls and was surrounded by a high fence. For the needs of the plant, a water tower was erected, which supplied the water necessary for operation. A boiler room was also built with a characteristic, very high brick chimney, which was pulled down at the end of the 20th century. For many years, the plant operated very dynamically. It was constantly expanded and modernized. In 1945, the plant fell into the hands of the Soviet army and only in 1961 was it fully handed over to PSS Społem. After the slaughterhouse was recovered, the necessary modernization of the plant was carried out. The municipal slaughterhouse and butcher's shop operated very well. The best year in history was 1977, when the plant produced 1926 tons of processed meat. The good streak was interrupted by systemic changes and changes in the functioning of the economy. The condition of the plant deteriorated significantly and it was necessary to close it.

Currently, the buildings are under reconstruction. After several years of destruction, a private investor undertook to create a modern shopping mall in the historic interiors. These activities are to restore the former splendor of the former municipal slaughterhouse and butcher's shop.
