The Tourist Information Centre

The Tourist Information Centre in Stargard was established on the initiative of the Stargard’s Friends Association in June 2002. It is located on the ground floor of the burgher’s house on Rynek Staromiejski, belonging to the museum. It is managed with the support of the City Council. 

In the Tourist Information Centre, tourists can obtain information on the region of Stargard concerning accommodation, catering, tourist trails, sights, and the calendar of events. Moreover, there is a possibility of purchasing tourist, travel, and historical publications about Stargard and the West Pomerania, also the Stargard’s Friends Association’s own publications.

The Tourist Information Centre issues certificates for tourists, which prove crossing the 15th meridian of eastern longitude, and a stamp attesting to the sojourn in Stargard.

The shop sells souvenirs connected with the town and its surroundings, flags and coats of arms of Stargard, maps, guidebooks, and handicraft – paintings, sculptures, stained glasses, and other products made by local artists. The Centre also sells tickets for cultural events in the city, especially those organized in the Piwnica TPS club.

Apart from informational activity, the Centre functions as a seat of the Stargard Tourist Organization.

Near the Market Square, we can park in one of free parking spaces, for example next to St Mary collegiate church or at the back of the museum, where a parking lot for dozens of cars is located.
