The manor park in Janków dates back to the second half of the 19th century. Currently, the park covers 9 hectares in the western part of the village, just beyond the last houses.
The park serves a landscape function. It is a typical English-style park, where the layout is very informal and naturalistic. It lacks typical garden infrastructure and, in character and appearance, resembles a forest. The park’s tree stand is mixed, with a slight predominance of deciduous trees such as beeches and oaks. The park can be divided into two parts—an older section, where experts estimate the trees to be as old as 130 years, and a younger section with trees averaging about 60–80 years old. The park also features monumental trees—designated as such due to their age and size—such as Douglas fir and European beech.
A nature and history trail called “Jankowo Park,” established in 2006, runs through the park. It is a very easy educational trail, designed primarily for children and people who want to spend their time actively, but it does not require much hiking experience. It is only 3 km long, and the walk takes no more than an hour. The tour begins at the historic granary located right next to the park and proceeds through the park’s most interesting features, including the main park avenue, the green gazebo, Konwaliowa Hill, the springs, and the cascading system of former trout ponds. An interesting highlight along the route is an incredibly beautiful linden tree with a trunk circumference of over 7.5 m. Information boards and a rest area for visitors are located along the trail.
While strolling through the park, it’s hard to miss the old Evangelical cemetery located right next to the park’s southern border, as well as the yew grove—considered the most beautiful and impressive in the region (it consists of over 70 trees).
