Sassnitz beach

Sassnitz was once a small fishing village - today it is one of the most popular vacation resorts on the island of Rügen. The town has held the title of "state-approved resort" since 1998. The famous Rügen healing chalk, which is offered in many hotels, has contributed to this. The town is a wonderful starting point for exploring the chalk coast with its breathtaking nature and for relaxing on the miles of fine sandy beach. Caspar David Friedrich also recognized the beauty of the beaches near Sassnitz and made several drawings of them.
