The Szczecin Prawobrzeże – Kołbacz – Puszcza Bukowa loop

You can reach the right bank of the city by train to the Szczecin Dąbie stop, by tram to the Turkusowa terminus, or by bus to the Bukowe and Słoneczne terminus. Initially, the section runs along the Western Lake District Route on a former railway embankment, through the picturesque Bukowa Forest. The section has a separate bicycle path, although the elevation may be challenging at times. In Płonia, Szczecin, we leave the trail and follow local roads past the old cemetery, and just outside the city we can use the bicycle path leading to Stary Czarnów, the planned Płonia Valley trail, which is to lead all the way to Barlinek. We particularly recommend covering this section in May, when the rapeseed is in bloom, and we can see a vast yellow carpet. In Kołbacz, we can stop for a moment to admire the former Cistercian monastery, where there is also a shelter to take a break from our journey. 

After covering many kilometers through fields and meadows, we reach Stary Czarnów. Here, we have to drive about 1.5 km on local roads and then turn towards the Bukowa Forest. Driving through its numerous hills, we can deviate from the route in search of numerous traces of history, such as bunkers, a former powder magazine, bridges, or hidden monuments to distinguished foresters. However, we follow the so-called Kołowska Road. We pass the Kołówko forester's lodge and the Heart of the Forest boulder, where we can also rest, and follow the gravel road towards the right-bank districts of Szczecin. This is the most pleasant part of the route, as it leads downhill almost all the way. We leave the Bukowa Forest via Chłopska Street and from there we can continue towards the transport hubs.
