The monastery in Dobra Szczecińska was erected on the 7th of July 1989. Franciscans of the Province of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual with their seat in Gdańsk started their pastoral activities. After some time, a house was built, which was consecrated in March 1992 and it became a permanent place of living for the monastic community. Currently Franciscans take care of the local parish church of Our Lady Queen of the World, which includes the following towns: Dobra, Grzepnica and Płochociny. In the parish there are monks, who take care of the spiritual development of the residents, offering not only catechesis through service, but also various meetings participation in communities and ecclesial movements. The monastery serves the residents of the parish, but also the visitors as a retreat house. There is a dining room, a conference room and a chapel of the monastery. There are six rooms in the building for people who wish to stay longer within the days of reflection or retreat. The area, where the monastery and the church are located, is fenced with a low stone wall, in which there is a stone-brick gate with a rather wide passage. In front of the entrance to the church there is a bell tower, while between the bell tower and the gate there is a stone board memorial for German residents of Dobra who died during the 1st World War. Franciscans have a peaceful garden, perfect for praying and walking. Among ornamental shrubs under a wooden structure there is a statue of Our Lady of the Immaculate.
