The proposed route runs from the Wiewiecko train station—which can be reached from Szczecin, Szczecinek, or Runowo Pomorskie—to the Trąbki train station. Nearly 100% of the route follows the path of a former narrow-gauge railroad, allowing cyclists to ride away from car traffic. The route is also suitable for children, and you can easily ride it even on a road bike.

In Storkowo, there may be some sand on the bike path due to the nearby gravel pit. If there is an unusually large amount of sand, you can report the issue via the “Pomorze Zachodnie” app.

The quarry itself is a tourist attraction, as the eastern wall of the Storkowo gravel quarry—which features glacial deposits of a terminal moraine—is a protected site. You can see it in the photos included with the tour.

The route then continues through the Ińskie Lake Districtand the Natura 2000 site of the same name. The Ińskie Lake District is also a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. In addition to traditional swimming in the lakes, visitors can go boating or ride a pedal boat here. Scuba diving is also becoming increasingly popular.

This suggested trip is part of the Western Lake District Route (R20) and the R20A connector, so you’ll have no shortage of picturesque lakes along the way. Toward the end of the trip, it’s worth stopping at Lake Marianowskie, where you’ll find a public beach, a campfire site, a small pier, and a bike repair station.

If you have some time left, you can veer slightly off the suggested route and visit Pęzino, home to one of the most beautiful monastic-knightly castles in all of Pomerania. Beautifully situated near the confluence of the small Pęzinka River and the slightly larger Krąpiela River, it is surrounded by a vast and meticulously landscaped park.

However, if you’re in a hurry to catch a train, it will be waiting for you in nearby Trąbki. POLREGIO trains heading toward Świnoujście, Szczecin, Kostrzyn, Zielona Góra, Szczecinek, Łobez, Słupsk, Koszalin, and Goleniów stop here. The schedule for both stations is available here:
